Spelt

Spelt heads with plump seeds but not mature. By https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Spelt.jpgSpelt (Triticum aestivum var. spelta) is a sub-species of common wheat. It has been grown in Europe for about 300 years. Spelt was introduced to the United States in the 1890s, according to Alternative Field Crops Manual.
